Brisbane (Energy Publishing) - The inferred resource at Northern Energy Corporation’s Maryborough hard coking coal project in South East Queensland has increased more than tenfold, from 5Mt to 57.4Mt at less than 100m depth. An exploration target of an additional 25-35Mt has also been identified at a depth of 100-150m following the completion of a three-month drilling program on EPCs 923 and 1085 in December 2009. NEC has lodge mining lease applications for the Colton mine located in the resource area. The mine is expected to produce 500ktpa of hard coking coal when production begins in mid-2011. |
