Brisbane (Energy Publishing) - The Isaac Plains opencut coal mine, a 50/50 joint venture between Aquila Resources and Vale, produced 602kt of saleable coal during the December 2009 quarter. Production at the Queensland Bowen Basin mine was impacted by the mining contractor changeover in October and wet weather in November and to a lesser degree at the end of December, the company said. The coal sales during the quarter were a record 775kt. The balance of the financial year’s production is close being fully committed to contracted sales. |
