Two Queensland rail lines closed, no coal into Gladstone

02/Feb/2010

Brisbane (Energy Publishing) The Moura line has been closed due to a landslide while the Blackwater line is closed due to a Pacific National Train derailment.

The derailment happened at about 1.40am today between Wycarbah and Warren in the Blackwater coal system.

The closures mean the Port of Gladstone, which has already had it’s shipping movements suspended due to severe whether, is unable to receive coal by rail.

The Blackwater line is expected to reopen 6 February, while the Moura line is expected on 4 or 5 February.

More information when available.
