Brisbane (Energy Publishing) - Queensland PCI producer Macarthur Coal has signed a long-term, take-or-pay contract with rail operator Pacific National for the transportation of coal to the Dalrymple Bay Coal Terminal. The A$250M contract, which is for haulage of 7Mtpa of coal from Macarthur’s 73.3%-owned Coppabella and Moorvale mines, will commence on 1 November 2010. Macarthur has been using Pacific National for supplementary capacity for the past six months. Pacific National has contracted its first 10 train sets in Queensland and will now be looking to purchase further train sets to take advantage of the development of the Surat and Galilee Basins, the company said. |
