Brisbane (Energy Publishing) - International engineering, architecture and environmental consulting group, GHD, has won the contract to conduct a feasibility study for the Shenhua Watermark thermal coal project in the New South Wales Gunnedah Basin. Shenhua says GHD, chosen after a rigorous selection process over the last three months, will start work immediately and is scheduled to complete the study by next September Shenhua secured Watermark exploration rights in a $300M deal with the NSW state government some two years ago. The project, on tenements covering 195sqkm about 35km from the town of Gunnedah in western north NSW, is the first international resources venture by the giant Chinese group. |
