Brisbane (Energy Publishing) - Peabody Energy’s Wilkie Creek open-cut thermal coal mine in Queensland’s Surat Basin declared force majeure on 3 March after continual heavy rains disrupted operations. Production is expected to recommence in about a week if the weather conditions improve, according to the Tex Report. The mine produces 2.35Mtpa of coal which is exported through the Port of Brisbane to Japan, Taiwan and South Korea. |
