FREIGHT: Rates lose further ground

Average charter rates for Capesizes lost further ground last week, dropping 9% to $5,188/day. The Capesize spot voyage rate from Newcastle to Qingdao retreated $0.15/t to $12.00/t while the Puerto Bolivar to Rotterdam rate sank $0.30/t to $9.00/t, the lowest since May 2011.
